OUTLOOK: This week is expected to remain very cold and showery. There is a risk of a prolonged spell of rain/sleet/hill snow around Wednesday night. The long-range forecast looks like remaining notably cold for Early May with the jet stream to the south of Ireland allowing incursions of cold northerly air to become established over Ireland.
