For this one amazing day each year, both urban and rural communities mingle together seamlessly, all enjoying the authentic cultural experience that combines livestock and bloodstock, home and garden, entertainment and fashion, music and much more. You can spend hours wandering and meandering in the maze of trade stands, watch the frolics of the animals in the pets corner, make your own judgements on the entrants in the various classes, view vintage machines reminiscent of another era and be amazed by the antics of the rare breeds. And if you thought that was all that was on offer try a look in the new Fashion Features Pavilion and perhaps for a moment imagine yourself at the catwalks in Milan or Paris. A dog lover, then you can be entertained at the dog showing & obedience rings or amused even further with the Fancy dressed Dog competition.

This innovative, imaginative and interesting show is the one place where culture and competition, entertainment and exhibitions, fashion and excitement will be the order of the day on Sunday 10th August, on The Butterfield Estate, Blueball, Tullamore, Co Offaly, Ireland, when the multitudes will gather to reap the results of 12 months of planning, organising and hard work, to deliver the Tullamore Show and AIB National Livestock Show, Irelands Premier Show. Approximately 62,000 people visited the show last year and enjoyed the huge programme which is vast and varied. There will certainly be something for everyone.  So, even if your interests are not vying for that new specially commissioned Gold Medal or the coveted rosette for Ireland’s Champion Bullock, there will be a multitude of choices to attract your interest and ensure that your day will be action packed combining with a unique, authentic cultural experience.  The new and improved traffic plans which will be well signposted will ensure that you day is stress free.

It may sound like churning out the old cliché but the Tullamore Show & AIB National Livestock Show really is the show with something for everyone! From the farming enthusiast to the animal lover and the fashion follower to the competitive contestant, the major dilemma all attendees will have is to try and see it all. Not only does it contain over 250 acres of show grounds, but there is free entertainment all day long, restaurants, bars and over 20,000 free car parking spaces. It’s the ultimate country lifestyle showcase.

Constantly changing and evolving in order to keep your competitive juices flowing and adrenaline pumping, the show has introduced a few new thoughtful and innovative additions to the competitive programme this year including the introduction of the Irish Moiled Champion in the Cattle Section, new classes in the Dairy area, the Odlums All Ireland Youth Competition in the Cookery Marquee, the development of the Meat Village, fancy dressed dog to name but a few. The show boasts a phenomenal prize fund of €165,000 and has the most sought after and coveted prizes in the country, especially in the livestock sections where 22 Gold Medals will be awarded for the Breed Champions and will become the hallmark of excellence in livestock production.

Consistently striving to be innovative, to improve the existing and to encourage & entice new entrants, the show will continue to develop the concept of the Meat Village, introduced a few years ago. This year will focus on the major meat processors, which will bring more attention to Irish meat products and producers which will exhibit at the Tullamore Show.

But the competition classes are not all orientated around “bovine and beef”   – Tullamore has one of the most fabulous flower and horticulture shows which make this a very special show. There is keen competition in all areas whether it is livestock, home industries or inventions, art/cookery/crafts, dogs or poultry, best dressed lady or glamorous granny etc. The equine section, based in its improved location, has classes and events to suit everyone including Connemara Ponies, Ridden and Working Hunters, Racehorse to Riding Horse, Draughts, Working Horses and Clydesdales and Miniatures. In addition there is a family pony section which includes a Best Pony & Rider in Fancy Dress for children from 3 to 12 years of age. All show jumping entries will be taken on the day but all the showing classes are pre entry only.

For all you followers of all fashion and related topics, we are delighted to announce an innovative, imaginative and interesting new addition to our show this year, the ‘Fashion Features Pavilion’. This amazing showcase will include a fashion runway within the Pavilion to rival Milan or Paris, with fashion showings throughout the day and workshops & demos to suit all you fashionistas and run by the Catwalk Modelling Agency. This new feature is very exciting and based on current feedback and trade stand line-ups, we are sure it will be an enormous success.

Following on from the enormous success last year of the trade stand online application system, the Tullamore Show has introduced another advancement with their online facilities, namely, the ONLINE pre-purchase of admission tickets. You may avoid the queues at the gates on the day by pre purchasing your tickets online, print them off or have on your phone and just scan them through. Forget it and you’ll regret it, so why not skip the queue and scan it through – avoid the queues at the gates by pre-purchasing your tickets ONLINE and print if off.
