MONDAY OCTOBER 20th: A few sunny spells to begin but quickly clouding over as the day progresses. Becoming wet and windy for the evening time and into tonight with some heavy rain and strong southwest winds – giving gale force gusts. Cool with highs of 12c to 14c. OVERNIGHT: Continuing very wet and windy with gale force gusts that may cause disruption locally. The SW winds will back west to NW. Lows of 7c to 9c.

Laois weather on this Bank Holiday Weekend

Laois to get very mixed weather this week.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 21st: Overcast with some rain and very windy to begin. Winds will slowly ease throughout the day and rain will give way to showers with some sunny spells. Cool with highs between 10c and 12c. OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear in light to moderate west winds. Lows of 6c to 8c.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 22nd: Cloud will build after a fine start. Some drizzle possible in the late afternoon. Highs of 11c to 13c in light to moderate southerly breezes. OVERNIGHT: Overcast with some drizzle. Milder. Lows of 10c to 12c in moderate south winds.

THURSDAY OCTOBER 23rd: Remaining overcast. Some spells of light rain on-and-off throughout the day with rather small amounts. Breezy but mild as highs reach 14c to 16c in a moderate southerly airflow. OVERNIGHT: Becoming dry for a time overnight. Lows of 8c to 10c in a light SW breeze. Remaining overcast though, with some light rain likely, especially in SE areas by dawn.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 23rd: Overcast with outbreaks of rain affecting SE Ireland possibly affecting Laois also. Some heavy falls possible, especially over the SE of the county. Cool with highs of just 9c to 11c under the rain, otherwise 11c to 13c.

OUTLOOK: Present indications suggest it becoming very mild next week as a southerly airflow becomes established. Rather cloudy, but holding fairly dry.
