☀️DRY SETTLED WEEKEND LIKELY

After a rather miserable Sunday for most our weather will improve for today, Monday, with some good sunny spells developing pretty widely, however some passing showers are likely with the odd heavy one also. This showery autumnal weather is due to a northwesterly airflow becoming established across the country, resulting in lower temperatures also.

This showery weather is likely to persist in most areas for remainder of the week with the heaviest showers occurring in the west and northwest of the country where they will be heavy and accompanied by hail. More scattered showers elsewhere with good sunny spells in between the showers. Daily highs of between 11-14 degrees Celsius are likely, with a return to nighttime Friday likely also.

As we head into next weekend we see our winds briefly switching to a northerly direction as an area of high pressure develops close to the west coast. This will ensure a dry, bright and sunny weekend in store for many with some pleasant crisp sunny weather likely. Nighttime frosts will however lead to some icy patches on our roads perhaps.

I’ll have a special post later today on the impacts of a forthcoming La Niña event which may impact our winter weather.
