As mentioned yesterday evening our weather this week, though mixed, will become hot briefly during Wednesday and Thursday, before a general change back to cooler and more mixed conditions develops through Friday night into the weekend.
Temperatures on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday will range between 23-26 degrees Celsius, highest on Thursday. The warmest weather will occur in the sunniest locations, especially so across the midlands and east of the country.
The development of this brief spell of hot weather is due to a plume of very warm air pushing northwards from the continent, reaching Ireland through Wednesday and peaking on Thursday. Heatwave conditions are likely in many parts of Western Europe where temperatures could exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
In the meantime heavy rain is likely to occur in places both today and tomorrow, with the heaviest rain likely in southern areas, especially mountainous regions of the southwest. Rainfall totals of up to 25-30 mm are possible over the next 48 hours.
To celebrate the 6th anniversary of Ireland’s Weather Channel, previously the Midland Weather Channel, I will be arranging a Prize Draw for all those who like and follow the page. The prizes confirmed so far are not to be missed!
If you would like to contribute a prize for the draw and have your company name viewed by over 2.5 million potential customers then please feel free to get in touch by messaging me directly or emailing on cathalgnolan@gmail.com.
As always if you have any questions regarding this mornings forecast then please feel free to message the page, email me at cathalgnolan@gmail.com or call me directly on 0879723300.
With kindest regards,
