Dry and sunny again today across most of the country, with high pressure located just to the North of Ireland, and low pressure over the Bay of Biscay. Similar conditions tomorrow, but with more cloud perhaps in southern coastal areas with a risk of some most and rain there.

Cloudy conditions become a little more widespread on Wednesday and Thursday, though some eastern and northern areas may remain sunny. Elsewhere some showery rain is possible for a time as the weather fronts are expected to get a little closer than previously expected, however rainfall amounts will be very small and some areas will stay completely dry.

For Friday and the weekend the weather becomes more settled again as a strong high pressure system builds to our north and northwest effectively cutting off the typical southwesterly winds that we experience. This will ensure dry settled weather returns for most, with good sunny spells and only scattered showers in northern coastal areas.

Temperatures will fall back somewhat however as winds switch to a northerly direction, with night frosts becoming an issue for farmers and gardeners given the sensitivity of crops and plants.
