High pressure will dominate our weather once more during the coming week with sunny spells and increasing temperatures for most. Easterly winds will ease through Monday and Tuesday with temperatures climbing towards 20 or 21 degrees Celsius by the midweek period.
Some instability in the atmosphere may lead to the odd sharp shower sparking off towards the end of this week and into next weekend, but overall the prognosis is good even into the start of next week.

What is worrying is the reduction in grass growth across the Midland and Northern Half of the country due to the extended period of dry weather which has left soils with a water deficit of 30-40 mm already, with this figure sets to increase to 50-60 mm perhaps by early next week.
How are you finding the weather? Do you need a drop of rain? Is this a bad omen for the summer months ahead or the start of a drought period?
Kindest regards as always,
Cathal Nolan
