Laois 1st and 2nd teams were playing last weekend.

The first team were away to North Kildare.

Quality with bat by Paul Croke 22 and Ahsan Pervaiz 42, also the captain Usama Raees with 24 not out.

Quality bowling by Armand smit and Jawad Amin, with 2 and 3 wickets respectively.’

‘The Second Team had their first game against Lucan 2nds at home in the Whelan cup.

Tom Morris and Muhammad Akram batted well getting laois off to a very good start.

Laois set a target of 112.

Lucan were in a strong position after 15 overs, but some very good bowling and tight fielding by Laois, made the visitors work hard and the game was a close one with Lucan getting over the line with 4 balls to spare. Annan Atiq’s 2 wicket maiden over was of such quality it almost won the game for Laois.’
