The Barrow Blueway Proposal Video

The Barrow Blueway is a proposal to develop a shared-use trail of international standard which meets the environmental and recreation needs of the communities through which the Barrow flows. The Barrow is the second longest river in Ireland and the 112-km long trail along the navigation will make this wonderful place accessible to everyone; able-bodied, disabled, in a buggy, in a wheelchair, walking, or running, all year round.

Now in the design phase of the process, Waterways Ireland is inviting the local communities to a series of Public Information Events to share the proposals and take in feedback from the individual groups and the wider community. The feedback which will contribute towards finalisation of the designs and the Environmental Impact Assessment.

Local Events will be held in Laois on 27th November in Vicarstown Inn 2-7pm
