⚠️HEAVY RAIN & LOCALISED FLOODING
👍Please Share

The realism of Storm Alex will affect the country today with a risk of some localised flooding in parts of the North, North Midlands and East of the country, with weather warnings in place for a number of counties at present. Winds will be strong for a time, especially along the north and northwest coasts where they may reach up to 80-100 km/h for a time.

Meanwhile the southwest and south of the country will certainly escape the worst of the conditions with dry weather holding well into to afternoon and winds remaining fresh and gusty but certainly not as strong as they will be across the north and northwest of the country. Highs today will range between 12-14 degrees Celsius and it will feel cold in the wind.

Very unsettled weather today. Please take care on the roads.

The outlook for the coming days is for rather showery conditions overall with northwest winds feeling down plenty of showers, some of which will be heavy with a risk of hail. Temperatures will be a little below average for the time of year with some night frosts likely where skies clear and winds fall light. There’s also some uncertainty about the risk of some heavy rain and or strong winds on Thursday/Friday, but more details on this will follow.
