A concert with Jackie Daly (button accordion) & Matt Cranitch (fiddle) will take place on Friday 12 February in The Barn, Tyrrellspass, Co Westmeath @ 8pm, admission €15, followed by workshops with Jackie Daly and Matt Cranitch on Saturday 13th February on the Sliabh Luachra style from 10am-12noon (all instruments welcome, workshop fee €10 ). Here’s a video of a beautiful performance from Music Generation Laois’ Traditional Summer School 2015. A small group of students took part in a masterclass with the wonderful accordion player Martin Tourish and in a short space of time, this beautiful arrangement came to life!
Laois and Emo ‘Blast from the Past’
We don’t have to go back that many months to find a former Laois footballing great showing the way in a supposedly ‘Young Man’s Game’. Emo and Laois legend Mick Lawlor found the back of the Portlaoise twice in two minutes to take the reigning county champions to a replay.

Our training sessions are currently stripped back to basics so now is the ideal time for anyone who might like to give Ladies Rugby a chance. It’s friendly, free and fun.
