This winning Normal Play ticket was bought yesterday (Tuesday 11th December) at the Petrogas Service Station in the centre on Mountmellick Town in Co. Laois. It was the 27th Irish EuroMillions Plus win of the year.
A delighted Petrogas manager, Carol Cuddy, today told of how news of the win has gripped the small town in Co. Laois:
“Since we got the news about the big win last night, the town has absolutely gone mad with the excitement, it’s brilliant! I think the whole town has already been through the doors of the shop this morning checking their tickets, there’s a great buzz in the community so we’ll enjoy the celebrations! We do get a lot of passing traffic but we are very hopeful that the winner is a local,” she said.
The winning EuroMillions Plus numbers are: 11, 16, 18, 28, 35
There was no winner of Tuesday’s €77 million EuroMillions jackpot which now rolls to an incredible €85 million (estimated) for Friday’s draw.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “Players in Ireland continue their incredible hot streak in the EuroMillions game. So far this year, we have had 27 winners of the EuroMillions Plus top prize in Ireland and our latest lucky Laois winner will hopefully claim their €500,000 just in time for Christmas. If you are this lucky ticket holder, be sure to sign the back of the ticket and contact our prize claims team on 01 836 4444 and we will make arrangements for you to come to the National Lottery Winner’s Room to get your prize”.
