Well done to Portlaoise RFC’s 1st XV who ran away with the Laois People’s ‘Team of the Week’ accolade after a close-fought win over fierce rivals Tullamore RFC. The Laois side are now thorugh to the next round of the Town’s Cup. When details of the draw are to hand we’ll post them on ‘Posts from Portlaoise’.

As a mark of respect for the funeral of Brídín Mulhall we will be closed at 2pm Sunday 31st Jan and will be closed all day Monday, 1st Feb.

This vibrant local school is in the news once again. The thriving Portlaoise school, with an enrollment of 700 approximately, has seen its website being awarded the “prestigious Scoilnet’s Star Site Award for their up-to-date, informative and vibrant web site.
