Clothing was supplied by Love & Co Antiques. Thank you to Zoe Wardrop. MUA and Hair Stylists were all from the Sharon Leavy College of Hair and Beauty, Portlaoise model Joy Turley (pictured), make up by Janice Dooley and hair by Leanne Farrelly. Thank you to Sharon Rankin Lynda Donoghue and everyone involved.

Zach on the attack

Portlaoise’s Zach Tuohy made history ten days ago when he lined out for Carlton against the Sydney Swans in their AFL Premiership clash at the Etihad Stadium.

Zach makes history!

Zach makes history!

Tuohy became the first Irishman to play 100 games for the Blues.

The 26 year-old former Laois underage star was selected on the All-Australian team by the AFL’s coaches last season in recognition of his defensive displays in a struggling Carlton team.

Portlaoise Educate Together National School News

4th class had a very exciting and interesting talk with Chief Officer Ray O’Keefe yesterday who taught us all about his role and responsibilities as a prison officer. We learned some very interesting facts about  prisons in Ireland and how the Prison Services operate. We were fascinated to hear about the community structure within the prisons and what happens there daily. Thank you very much to Ray for coming to visit us today and  for even demonstrating how handcuffs work! Luckily he had the handcuff key with him too! For school news click here.
