Midlands 103 has recently launched a Road Safety Campaign in collaboration involving Surgeons, Rotary Clubs and Credit Unions. The ‘Be safe, be seen’ campaign features broadcast and online public safety messages.
The Road Safety Authority reports that pedestrians on dark rural roads are 13 times more likely to be killed than those walking in daylight,” says Fintan Monahan President of the Portlaoise Rotary Club
Portlaoise Rotary Club is supporting this iniative by ensuring the delivery of over 10,000 high visibility life-saving stickers to 66 Primary schools in Co. Laois. “We’re urging parents to make sure your child gets the sticker and wears it on these winter evenings.”

This is an important civic and public healthcare initiative and we hope it will have a positive effect on road safety in the county.
