The Club’s new season opened with The Right to be Forgotten an informative and disturbing speech on the abuse and theft of personal data. The speaker Donal Cahill had researched the subject very well and explained the dangers in detailed and the safeguards available. There then followed a very useful step by step guide on how to write a speech from one of the Club officers.

Networking over tea gave friends a chance to catch up on the summer holidays and then it was back to the meeting to enjoy a very stimulating table topic session where members are invited to speak for one to two minutes on a wide range of subjects. Club President Carmel O’Leary mentioned the upcoming  Speechcraft Workshop on six consecutive Tuesdays from Tuesday  September 8 designed to give quick help to the inexperienced speaker and to assist the person with some training to become a more polished speaker.
