
Portarlington Lady runner-up in ‘Most Beautiful Girl in Ireland’ pageant
Though Oonagh Hoey narrowly missed out on the crown of Most Beautiful Girl in Ireland 2016/17 last Friday at the Limerick Strand Hotel she represented Laois with poise throughout before going on to claim the 1st Runner Up position.
Suzzie O’Deniyi Director of the Most Beautiful Girl in Ireland stated that the “Most Beautiful Girl in Ireland pageant competition which is more than just beauty, we created the title to draw attention and to make awareness to a lot of things girls are facing in today’s society, it’s not just about the beauty, but what she can use the title to promote and make awareness of and also with the aim of promoting body confidence. MBGI embraces all kind of girls from different walks of life. The competition received over 300 applicants which was broken down altogether to 12 finalists. We are very excited to see where Oonagh title has 1st Runner Up will take her and it will be quite interesting to see how she will use her title to promote the important things that really matters in life.”

Oonagh was bullied during her school years and is very passionate about promoting mental health awareness and hopes to use her title to put a stop on bullying and share her story to other girls around Ireland.
