HEDGE CUTTING:
Landowners are reminded by Laois County Council that the period for Hedge Cutting runs from 1st September 2015 to the 29th February, 2016. Landowners have a responsibility to ensure that hedges, ditches, trees or any other vegetation growing on their land are not nor could not become a danger to individuals using or working on a public road. Hedgerows along the public road that require cutting or trimming back should be cut immediately and all cuttings moved… Many thanks.
CULLOHILL FAMILY FUN DAY:
A Family Fun Day in aid of the Parents Council of St. Tighearnach’s School in Cullohill will take place on Sunday 8th November from 1pm to 4pm. The venue for the event will be Cullohill Community Centre and the adjoining field. Thanks to PJ Aylward, the art of threshing will be on display in Cullohill for the first time in nearly 50 years.

There will also be a butter churning as well as a vintage machinery exhibition. Cullohill Equestrian Centre will provide pony rides on the day. Inside the community centre, there will be a host of activities for all the family including a Nerf Shooting Gallery, Fairy Door Making, Nail Art, Face Painting, Cake Sale and refreshments. Admission is €5 per adult and children are free. Donations of cakes etc… for the cake sale would be very much appreciated.

ORIENTEERING:
Our local orienteer, Conall Whelan will be competing for Ireland in the Junior Home Internationals at Magilligan Sand Dunes this Bank Holiday weekend. Junior teams from Scotland, Ireland (all counties), Wales and England will battle it out in County Derry. Conall will run an 8km course on Saturday and relays on Sunday.
