ARTHRITIS IRELAND LAOIS BRANCH:

We have a new friendly strolling group that meet each Wednesday at Portlaoise Leisure Centre / Swimming Pool from 7pm until 8pm. It’s a social weekly meet-up for a gentle stroll and a chat for any persons, any age, with Arthritis, Fibromylgia or any such conditions. Come along & give it a try? We look forward to meeting you.

Family Fun Day Postponed – Owing to the bad weather forecast for this Sunday (July 19th) the committee have decided to postpone the event until later in the Summer. STRICTLY COME DANCING: Durrow Development Forum and The Harps GAA are delighted to be  bringing Strictly Come Dancing to Durrow on the 14th November. Our dancing couples are all working hard organising their fundraising events and would be very grateful for your support. A summer of great fun nights out is definitely ahead! Dancing tuition will start at the end of August so there is still plenty of time to get involved. We would be delighted to welcome another few dancing couples on board. CLASS OF 95 REUNION – ST BRIGID’S COLLEGE, CALLAN: A 20-year reunion will be held on this coming Saturday, 15th Augustdownstairs in Bridies Bar, John St. Kilkenny from 8pm onwards. Students and teachers are all welcome. Facebook page event under Fionnuala. As there were several students who attended St. Brigids College from the Durrow area down through the years we ask anyone who attended the school finishing in 1995 to contact Fionnuala.

WHEEL INN CONCERT: Very well-known Country and Western Singer Mick Flavin will be in concert in the Wheel Inn, Ballyouskill on Friday night, August 14th in aid of St. Patrick’s GAA Club, Ballyragget. Tickets are €20 each and are limited so booking is advisable! One of the best entertainers in the country and western scene at the moment is not to be missed!

BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICE MOBILE UNIT:

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service Mobile Unit will visit The Castle Arms Hotel, Durrow on Wednesday August 19th from 5pm to 8.30pm. Please note the change of day and the new time. There is a special request to all existing donors, lapsed donors and new donors to make time on this day for giving your donation as the demand for blood donations is great.

BALLINAKILL SWIMMING POOL:

The outdoor heated pool is open for the remainder of the summer during fine weather. For more information please contact (089) 4413150 to check if the pool is open on any particular day before travelling!
