FLOWER CLUB:
Cullohill and Durrow Flower and Garden Club will meet at Manor Garden Centre on Monday January 18th at 2pm. All members are asked to attend. Our next meeting in the Community Centre, Cullohill will be on Monday night February 8th at 8pm when Tommy Moore, Horticulturist, will give a talk and help us to get back into the garden.

THIRD LAOIS DURROW SCOUTS:
It was a busy time for Durrow scout group over Christmas. Some of new Cubs were invested as well as our new leaders. Congratulations to Callin, Noah, Paul and Martina. The group held the annual Christmas carol singing on the green and there was a great turn out to join them. A big thank you to Ann Conroy for her time in playing the music. Cubs also had a Christmas sleepover in the Den and enjoyed games & a special meal. A great night was had by all.

Durrow Scouts News
The Scouts travelled to the Zone in Navan and participated in Paintballing, Go Karting and a number of other activities. Again they had a great day. Our Beavers are heading off on Saturday for their trip to the panto in Kilkenny and it is sure to be a great day. The group are looking forward to another action packed year and wish all our members and supporters a Happy New Year.
ST PATRICKS DAY 2016:
Durrow Development Forum would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year. As Phase one of the Regeneration of the Green is now finished we are looking to celebrate St Patrick’s Day with a parade at 2pm, an open air market and entertainment. Time to put your thinking caps on for your float!
Leafy Loop Walks:
With the wet weather of December, a lot of the walks on the Leafy Loop are flooded. Please avoid the walk near rivers and wear appropriate gear for walking.

Scarecrow Festival 2016:
The scarecrow festival is coming round the corner… (well it takes a bit of time to organise such a festival) …so we are starting planning Durrow Scarecrow Festival 2016 and anybody with ideas or who would like to get involved can do so by contacting Evelyn Clancy or any member of the forum.

SAVE OUR MOUNTAIN CAMPAIGN:
The Committee of “Save Our Mountain” are holding a big concert extravaganza in The Castle Arms Hotel on Saturday January 23rd at 8pm when world famous “The Celtic Tenors” will entertain everyone. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster, Marie Stapleton (087) 6488638 or any member of the Committee. This will be a unique chance to hear these wonderful tenors perform their music and should not be missed. Please support.
BLOOD DONATIONS:
The Blood Transfusion Service wish to thank everyone who attended their recent clinic in Durrow; one hundred and forty eight attended with sixteen new donors and eighteen lapsed donors. The following received silver awards for ten donations: Pascal Bergin, Cullohill; Martin Kelly, Attanagh and Dermot Brophy, Ballyragget. Well done to all!
