The Parents Council of Scoil Tighearnach Naofa, Cullohill would like to sincerely thank all those who supported the Christmas Cracker Fun Run on the 27th December. The big event was very well attended with over 185 participants. Unfortunately the beanie hats for each participant did not arrive in time, but these will be distributed next week to all participants. We look forward to your continued support.

Durrow Bridge Club continues in the Presentation Centre to the left of the local Catholic Church every week on Wednesdays. All are most welcome to attend.

The Durrow Community Text Alert Service went live just prior to Christmas 2015. There are almost 150 members in Durrow registered to this new service. A test Text was sent out to all members at that time with the Text Alert Mobile Phone Number. Any person who registered but who DID NOT receive this test Text, please call or text either of the following numbers: (087) 6927409 or (087) 2797214.

The Durrow Community Text Alert Committee is currently arranging to put in place Text Alert Signs on all roads leading into Durrow and in each housing estate.

The committee would like to thank all the members of Durrow Fire Brigade, the FAS team and everyone who helped in putting up this year’s Christmas lights. The town looked very festive over the holiday period drawing much admiration from locals and passer-bys alike.

We would like to remind you all that an AED Defibrillator is located on the side-wall of Cullohill Community Centre. Pat Barnaville (086 8304420) also carries around an AED in his car at all times. An AED is a portable device that checks the heart rhythm and can send an electric shock to the heart to try to restore a normal rhythm. In the event of a person collapsing and becoming unresponsive: Call 999 (landline) or 112 (mobile); Call any one of our local Defibrillator Responders – their numbers can be found in the Defibrillator box and start CPR immediately while awaiting responder and emergency service.
