New Kids’ Club set for Portlaoise
Portlaoise Junior Club initiative starting in October
If you have an hour each week to help support volunteers who are creating a new Juniors Club for young people aged between 10 and 12 years of age in Portlaoise to meet once a week in a safe fun space. We need you right away. The Juniors will have opportunities to learn and participate in community projects that will engage them as they learn about making positive changes to their environment and community and you’ll be there to support and help where you can.
If you have a young person who wishes to join the club call Alan to arrange when suits to begin or to find out more about what’s on offer.
Volunteer Katie had this to say about the opportunity: “This is a great opportunity for young people to do something constructive together; I am really excited about the chance to be involved”
For the group to be successful they are looking for a minimum of two more adult volunteers who are willing to go through the application and training process and help out on a rota so each volunteer is not required to attend every week.
If you feel you have what it takes to be part of this new exciting Juniors group please contact Alan the volunteer development officer who will be able to provide all the information and training you will need.
