Music Generation Laois has some very exciting new instruments on offer this with a unique twist! They are now offering tuition in OBOE and DOUBLE BASS!!!! More information below but if either of these interest you, give them a call in the office!
Exciting New Initiatives
• Oboe – Music Generation Laois are now offering Oboe lessons as part of a pilot programme through IAYO, Laois School of Music, Music Generation Laois, Music Generation Carlow and Carlow College of Music. A specialist tutor is in place to commence lessons on a Saturday, which will continue weekly, along with the introduction of periodical Skype lessons from student’s own home – a new initiative in instrumental teaching.
The tutor has recommended a minimum starting age of 9, with no upper limit. Lessons will be subsidised and an oboe will be provided. If you are interested to find out more, please contact the office.
• Double Bass – The Oboe tutor also teaches Double Bass so we are keen to introduce it to Orchestra and/or Music Generation Laois’ School of Rock & Pop. We have access to half or three-quarter size Double Basses so starting age would probably be around age 12, with no upper age limit.
NOTE : Music Generation Laois doesn’t want to take pupils away from their existing instrument, so perhaps there are other siblings at home who might like to try them out but all welcome to try in any event.
