Mountrath and Clonaghadoo reach National Foróige Talent Final

Mountrath and Clonaghadoo Foróige Clubs win at this years regional Final hosted by Laois Foróige District Council in the Killeshin Hotel in 24th March. Over 100 members from across Laois and Kildare had ten acts compete for the two spaces available to represent their county at the national finals the 22nd of this month.

The members and volunteers were delighted to welcome the judges, Emmet Byrne, of Redrock on TV3, Kelly Ging, of Kelly Lou Cakes from Ireland AM, and Erica Borges, of Laois Dance Academy, deliberated for 15 minutes to and fro about the best of the night. The panel this year was amazed at the quality and confidence of all the acts and found it difficult to choose which should go to the national final.

They were delighted to be able to send forward members from the regions newest club in Mountrath and four of the older members from Clonaghadoo who have been members since they were 13. We wish Eimear from Mountrath and Conor, Declan, Darragh and Kieran the very best as they go to take home the Gold and again show the nation the talent of our members in Laois.

The Development Officer Alan Judge is keen to engage with any community or volunteer that would like to discuss being part of the existing clubs or showcase the opportunities available for the members and the volunteers alike by creating a new club in their area.
