Mountmellick chosen to host Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town.

Business and community groups in the wider Mountmellick area are being urged to register as soon as possible for the Mountmellick Enterprise Town event, which takes place on Saturday 3rd December in Mountmellick Community Hall.  This FREE event, is expected to be extremely popular as it provides a platform for local businesses, clubs, societies, schools, charities and community groups to come together and showcase of all that is great about the local area.

The hugely successful Enterprise Town Initiative is taking place in 100 towns across Ireland this year.  The upcoming one-day Mountmellick event aims extend the success of other recent Enterprise Towns in neighbouring Abbeyleix, Durrow and Rathdowney.  The objective is to support local organisations and help generate business in the area. The initiative also involves the wider community and the schools, to ensure everyone can get involved and be part of the positive experience that is an Enterprise Town Event.

The community launch took place on Wednesday 2nd November in Bank of Ireland Mountmellick and Carol Dalton, branch manager, is excited about the positive response so far; “We had a very positive response to the launch from the community and Mountmellick Enterprise Town is shaping up to be a fantastic event with something for everyone.  Local companies will be able to network; clubs and societies can display their talents and charities raise their profiles.  We will have lots of entertainment for all ages, spot prizes and special guests to be announced too”.

The initiative is supported by Bank of Ireland, but is open to all organisations who would like to take part and is completely free for both exhibitors and attendees. Many businesses, clubs and charities have already signed up to exhibit at Mountmellick Enterprise Town, and exhibitor spaces are filling up quickly.

The event, which is a real community effort, aims to bring all sectors together and promote everything that is positive about Mountmellick.  Ms. Dalton says, “We would love to see everyone come out to support this event on Saturday 3rd December from 11am to 3pm. Everyone is welcome! It will be a community orientated expo with lots of family entertainment and kid’s activities too.  All the details will be posted on our Facebook Page ‘Mountmellick Enterprise Town’ here over the coming weeks”.
