National Heritage Week runs from 19-27 August. The Laois event guide and the national guide are available in Mountmellick library. Pick up a copy and see what’s going on in your area!
DOGS TRUST WORKSHOP:
There are still a few places left at the free dog safety workshop with Dogs Trust Education Officer Paul and his dog Magic on Thursday 24th August at 11 a.m . Ring 0578644572 to book a place.

MOUNTMELLICK HERITAGE SOCIETY:
Take a trip down memory lane and visit the Mountmellick Heritage Society exhibition ‘Mountmellick Memories’ at Mountmellick Library. This exhibition brings together photographs, artifacts and documents highlighting life in the town since the 1800s. The exhibition will be available for viewing during library opening hours until Thursday 31stAugust. All are welcome to drop in.
SUMMER STARS AT YOUR LIBRARY:
The closing date for the summer reading challenge is Saturday August 26th! So get out those library books and keep reading! Don’t forget to collect your rewards at your local library!
ADULT CHESS CLUB: Mountmellick Library will be setting up an adult chess club starting in September. If you are interested in joining please ring 0578644572 and let us know!
KEEP CALM AND COLOUR IN: The adult colouring group will continue to meet over the summer on Thursday mornings from 10.30 onwards in Mountmellick Library! Drop in do some colouring and have a cup of tea and coffee and a chat! All are welcome.
