TOM JOYCE TALK ON ART FOR OUR SAKE:
Two striking sculptures are currently on display in Mountmellick Library !Tom Joyce artist, will give talk on the techniques and materials used in this collaborative project on Tuesday 24th October at 6.30pm.If interested call us on 0578644572! This is a collaborative project between Clonaslee College transition year students, their art teacher Amanda Harkin and local artist Tom Joyce. The theme of the project is mental health and general well being. The sculptures were created using a variety of materials and construction techniques. This project is part of the Artists in School scheme administered by Laois Arts office.

EUROPE DIRECT SOAPBOX COMPETITION:
Congratulations to Claire O’Brien who received an IPad for winning the 19 and over Europe Direct Soapbox competition in Mountmellick Library last Wednesday. The under 19 competition will be on Wednesday 25th October at 6 p.m. in Mountmellick Library! Call 0578644572 for details! Winners will then compete in an all Ireland final in Dublin for the first prize of €1,000 and a trip to Brussels!

JUNIOR CHESS CLUB:
The next Junior Chess Club is on Saturday November 4th from 10.30 a.m to 11.30 a.m. for ages 7-13 years of age. All are welcome but knowledge of basic chess moves is necessary.
