Severe weather warning:
Temperatures tonight may drop to as low as -3 degrees Celsius. These temperatures combined with wet road surfaces will lead to icy stretches on many roads of the Midlands. Take care on the roads overnight!
Tomorrow, Tuesday will be a dry, bright and sunny day right across the region with all areas of the region seeing plenty of sunshine. The best of the sunny spells will occur in eastern areas of the region with some cloudier spells likely in western and northern areas. Feeling milder than today with highs between 6 and 9 degrees Celsius.
Wednesday will be a more unsettled day across the Midlands with some outbreaks of rain likely in Western areas of the region in particular. Conditions across the Eastern half of the region will remain dry and settled with some sunny spells possible, especially during the early hours of the day. Highs will range between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius.
Thursday and Friday will be much cooler and fresher days across the region with all areas expected to see some rather showery conditions. The heaviest of these shower will occur during the afternoon and some will be heavy with a risk of hail. Highs will range between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius.
Saturday currently looks like being the best day of the weekend with some pleasant spells of sunshine likely in many areas. It will however feel rather cool with some frost likely on Saturday morning. A band of heavy rain and fresh winds will cross the country on Sunday morning before gradually clearing through the afternoon. Heavy blustery showers are expected to follow from the North West and many will be heavy with a risk that these showers may turn wintry over high ground.
Unsettled conditions are likely throughout next week with above average rainfall, stronger than normal winds and below average temperatures with some wintry precipitation likely over the higher ground of the region.
