Eileen Moore has recently been crowned Miss Laois in the 2016 Miss Ireland Competition.  She is one of 34 girls competing for the title of Miss Ireland and the opportunity to represent Ireland in the Miss World Competition to be held in Washington, USA in December.

Eileen is 20 years old and comes from the beautiful and award-winning village of Castletown.  She has recently qualified as a Dance Instructor and has been dancing since the age of 4 with the Aedeen O’Hagan School of Ballet and the Lynam School of Irish Dance.  Eileen won a scholarship at the age of 16 to a Performing Arts College in the UK where she spent two years.

Eileen is passionate about the teaching of dance and hopes to be a positive role model to the children she teaches.  She really believes that it doesn’t matter where you have come from or what you have been through, you can achieve great things.  You need to be true to yourself, be prepared to work hard, pick yourself up after failures and learn from your mistakes.

As Miss Laois she hopes to promote positive mental health and awareness of the many charities that can be accessed to help prevent death by suicide and support and assistance to those who need it.
