Lions International Peace Poster Contest & Exhibition 2016

“Celebration of Peace”

The Arts Office, Laois County Council will host a reception and prize giving ceremony for the Lions International Peace Poster Competition in Áras an Chontae, Portlaoise, on Tuesday 8thNovember at 4.00pm.

The Lions International Peace Poster Contest is an international contest that encourages children, ages 11 – 13, to creatively express what peace means to them.   The 2016 contest theme is “Celebration of Peace”, which should evoke some interesting and imaginative work from the students taking part.  Students from schools around the county are invited to take part and their work is adjudicated by an independent professional artist.  The annual poster competition allows students to share their unique image of peace with others, so that we all have greater tolerance and international understanding.
