The organisers including Festival Curator and Writer Dermot Bolger, Temporary Arts Officer Mary Brady and the venue team at Dunamaise Arts Centre were keen to find a way to celebrate the literary arts and music in Laois and decided to broadcast Leaves instead and present all events in the form of podcasts on . Through these podcasts, Leaves On Air celebrates writing and music in a different way in 2020 and allows people to enjoy contemporary Irish writers, the art of conversation and wonderful music, from the comfort of home.

“The festival would usually take place at Dunamaise Arts Centre and other venues across County Laois but current circumstances forced us to rethink how we could best bring featured writers, musicians and audiences together in a safe, engaging and entertaining way. Together with Laois Arts Office, we are delighted to now present a series of Podcasts featuring our special guest musician and writers in conversation with Festival Curator Dermot Bolger”, said Michelle de Forge, Director of Dunamaise Arts Centre.

This programme of authors readings and interviews are available, for FREE, as audio downloads for a limited time period from or on Spotify or iTunes.
