Nua Healthcare Services, known for its specialist provision of community-based residential and  supported living services throughout Ireland, today announces the opening of its new community  inclusion initiative in Multyfarnham, which has been named by a local primary school student, Anna  Murray, as “Abbey Blooms Botanical Gardens.

Open to the public 7-days per week; the spectacular new gardens are located on a 1.7-acre plot

Open to the public 7-days per week; the spectacular new gardens are located on a previously run down 1.7-acre plot to the rear of The Franciscan Abbey. Formerly, the area was utilised as a  horticultural college, and later, as a chicken hatchery. Since then, it has been transformed by Nua  Healthcare into one of Ireland’s most beautiful gardens and intends to bring the local community and  its visitors together, in a safe open-air environment, amidst hundreds of specimen flora that have been  displayed within numerous carefully laid out bedding areas, accessed by meandering pathways, and  complemented by a magnificent geodome with its locally sourced limestone water feature. The  gardens also house some carefully positioned gazebos offering sheltered seating areas for visitors to  relax and enjoy a coffee from the well-appointed Garden Café.

Speaking today, Nua Healthcare’s CEO, Noel Dunne said: “It has always been Nua Healthcare’s mission  to facilitate and support our Service Users to pursue meaningful lifestyles. We strive to provide  educational and employment opportunities and ultimately, to empower the people we support to be  the best version of themselves and to live their lives independently. We are very grateful to the  communities we work within who have embraced the men, women and children of our services, and  indeed other services like ours. This initiative represents a unique opportunity for us on behalf of our  sector, to thank our communities and to continue working collaboratively in the best interests of the  people we support.

I am so proud of our team, not only for what they do every other day, but especially for conceiving  this great idea and seeing it through to fruition in what one can only describe as their collective labour  of love. I wish to also take this opportunity to thank our Board of Directors for their financial support  and their belief in the team. May all its patrons enjoy these beautiful gardens for many years to  come”.
