Portlaoise makes ‘Top 15’ of most health conscious places in Ireland

Interested in knowing the most ‘health conscious locations in Ireland’?

So were we.

So we went to Google Trends and put in a search for the topic ‘Health’ over a 5 year period (from Jan 2016 to Jan 2021). As the results varied ever so slightly from day to day – we decided to get an average over a 31 day period – so to have the most accurate reading possible. And digging through the sum of that data – we calculated the top locations where health is searched the most.

So without further ado…

Here are the most Health conscious places in Ireland (or at the very least; where the topic health is searched the most as an overall percentage of searches)

Were you expecting Portlaoise to be in ‘Top 15’?

Note – the above is research based on a higher proportion of all queries, not a higher absolute query count.

So the number 1 location in Ireland doesn’t mean it has the most searches in Ireland. It just means – based on the total amount of searches in that location – Health had a higher percentage than anywhere else.

So what were people searching for?

Everything Health Related basically! In no particular order – here is a sample of what was searched:

• Health status of certain politicians & celebrities
• Gut Health
• Cardiovascular health
• GAA Health Questionnaires
• The Department of Health
• Mental Health
• Local Health Centres
