WALKERS TAKE NOTE:

Please remember that dogs are required to be on a lead on the Leafy Loop walk in Durrow. Please remember that the walk crosses Private, Coillte and Farmland and all dogs are required to be on a lead throughout the route, without exception. For local walkers, if you see a dog off the lead, please do remind visitors that dogs need to be on a lead as although there is some signage reminding people, sometimes it can be missed and visitors may not be aware that dogs must be on a lead at all times.

MUTT BAG DISPENSERS INSTALLED IN DURROW:

A handy information booklet for dog owners and their families is now available on www.laois.ie online. Also a reminder that if your dog ‘poops’ please clean up after it.  We have installed ‘Mutt bag dispensers’ so you won’t be left short if you forget your bags. Also a reminder that dogs are required to be on a lead on the Leafy Loop walk in Durrow. Please remember that the walk crosses Private, Coillte and Farmland and all dogs are required to be on a lead throughout the route.

Laois County Council, in partnership with Mountmellick Tidy Towns, is pleased to announce the launch of Mutts Mitts in Mountmellick. Mutts Mitts dispensers are for dog waste bags and three of these dispensers have been placed at various locations around the town of Mountmellick. COMMUNITY ALERT:

With the winter time in everyone is asked to keep an eye on their elderly neighbours. Call regularly to see if they need shopping, food or fuel to keep them warm in these very cold and damp days and nights. This is all the more important since Covid is here and older people are afraid to go out in case they get the dreaded virus. Also it’s important to make sure their houses are safe and keep a watch for strange cars/vans in your area. Contact the Gardaí if you see something unusual, do not approach any person/persons. Take care and be safe.
