ROAD CLOSURE
Laois County Council has announced a further 3 weeks closure until March 24 on the Ballymorris Road, L-3157-22, from the Railway Bridge to Canal Road/ Ballymorris Road Crossroads.
The closure is necessary to facilitate the installation of a traffic light, footpath & public lighting. Diversions will be clearly signposted. A map indicating the routes to be closed and the alternative routes will be available for inspection at www.laois.ie and Áras an Chontae, Portlaoise.

WELL DONE NICOLE
A big well done to the wonderful Nicole Turner on her appearance on the Late Late Show with Ryan Tubridy & also on Ireland Am on Tuesday March 2. Nicole has become an ambassador for Paralympics Ireland. Nicole is still in training for the Paralympic games in Tokyo. Her family have played a big part in her achievements, with her Mam doing a round trip to Dublin 6 days a week to get Nicole to her training.

Paralympic Ireland has launched a new fundraising campaign to help Irish para-athletes reach the next level. Paralympics Ireland is asking the Irish public to help support its athletes by donating to the campaign via https://paralympics.ie.
To make a donation, simply go to https://paralympics.ie and click on the ‘Donate’ button or click on the posts visible across official Paralympics Ireland social channels. The minimum donation is €2 and can be made using either Google Pay, credit or debit card, or Paypal.
DUCK RACE

Can you please help local young man Joey Kennedy who is fundraising with his school mates at Clongowes Wood college to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital Crumlin. Their annual initiative “Duck Push” cannot take place this year due to restrictions, but Joey is asking you to donate as much as you can please towards this great cause. Now that we have some better weather and brighter evenings why not get involved and do a litter pick in the area where you live. Every little bit helps in keeping where we live looking good. It’s amazing what can be achieved if we all help out. Remember many hands make light work.

Padraig was predeceased by his mother Mag.
