Latest Laois News: Mountrath Community School students pitch ideas to Laois ‘Dragon’s Den’

Mountrath Community School students pitched their business ideas to a Laois ‘Dragon’s Den’ in Mountrath’s Bloom HQ

The CEO of Bloom HQ, in Mountrath, Edward Dunne , spoke with the Transition year students of Mountrath Community School , on Wednesday the 24th of November. 


Ms Mary Gannon, the Transition Year coordinator in Mountrath Community School, said that this programme is about social entrepreneurship and social enterprise and how this initiative can impact the local community in a very positive way. This is an excellent opportunity for our students . 


Student Cian Hill said that he really enjoyed listening to how everyone can make a difference in their locality, town and so on.

Student Roman O’ Callaghan said that the group are looking forwarding to putting their new knowledge into action in the forthcoming Dragons Den, and having an opportunity to pitch their enterprise projects, their mini companies to a panel of local ‘dragons’, directors and company entrepreneurs in the coming days at Bloom HQ. 


Student Courtney Chambers said that it’s a very exciting time and opportunity for the enterprise students to pitch to the best, as they lead up to their much celebrated and widely anticipated Christmas market in the next few weeks.

MCS students pitched their ideas to a local Laois ‘Dragon’s Den’


Ms Mary Gannon, the TY Coordinator, added that every student is given the opportunity to participate in the Dragons Den with their company. And the pitches to the Dragons will be very important. It’s great to see the community and the school working together in this unique initiative.
