Today, Monday, will be overcast to begin with as outbreaks of showery rain spreads across the country with some heavy thundery bursts likely. This will clear away to leave a drier and brighter afternoon with just light showers. Becoming stormy for a time tonight in Atlantic coastal fringes and especially in the northwest of the country. Highs of 7-10 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow,
Tuesday, will again be a day of sunshine and showers, some of which may again be on the heavy side with a slight risk of the odd thundery shower in coastal areas. Highs of 7-10 degrees Celsius with moderate southwesterly winds.

Wednesday, will be a drier day overall, though some showers are also likely, especially so in the northwest where some will remain on the sharp side. Highs of between 6-9 degrees Celsius. There’s some uncertainty on Wednesday night as a small area of low pressure may bring heavy rain across the south and east of the country with a risk of some falls of snow over higher ground.
Thursday will be the best day of the working week as a ridge of high pressure ensures mainly dry and sunny conditions will prevail. Winds will fall light and it will feel pretty pleasant in any prolonged spells of sunshine. Highs of 5-9 degrees Celsius.
Friday will be an overcast and showery day overall following on from a wet and windy start on Friday morning. The showers on Friday will be heavy with some thundery downpours in some areas.

Saturday will start off dry and bright with some pleasant sunny spells and just passing scattered showers in between. Rain will spread from the south later and winds will increase fresh to strong for a time. Somewhat drier and brighter weather on Sunday as high pressure to the southeast begins to develop and tries to establish itself for next week.
Overall the outlook suggest a spell of more settled weather may develop next week as high pressure develops to our southeast, feeding in warmer southerly winds with temperatures possibly reaching into the mid teens for a time, bringing the first real taste of Spring despite remaining in meteorological winter. Further details to follow…Have a great start to the new week,
