Latest Laois News: Laois ‘Solidarity with Palestine’ Protest

A peaceful protest is being organised in solidarity with Palestine on Saturday 22/05/2021 at 3pm. The protesters will gather outside St. Peter & Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Portlaoise at 3pm. The protestors will walk from the Church on the main road to the Laois County Council building. Outside the Laois County Council building, the representatives will express their solidarity with the people of Palestine and put their demands to the Irish Government.

The aims of the protest include:
Raising awareness of the alleged ‘ethnic cleansing’ happening in Palestine
As well as urging the Irish govt to:
Pass the occupied territories bill
terminate the status of the Israeli ambassador
cease any trade and ban the purchase of Israeli products and services
use our UN security seat to sanction Israel
