Latest Laois News: Former Portarlington resident hitting creative peak in Sweden
Robert and Caroline Twamley are an Irish-Swedish married couple who have released both a book and a song this spring. Robert previously lived in Portarlington and worked in Portlaoise before moving to Falkenberg, Sweden almost twelve years ago. ‘Hangin’ On’ is his third solo single and it has so far been played on Swedish national radio (Sveriges Radio), Norwegian radio (NRK P1+) and on Dublin City FM, Radio Kerry, Dundalk Fm and West Limerick 102fm.
Robert and Caroline’s journey together began in Ireland in 2008 when Caroline took time off from her job in Sweden and went to work at Castle Forbes in Longford where she trained show horses for Jessica Curtin. Since then the couple has managed to write and record several songs, move to Sweden, have two children and release three books.
The song ‘Hangin’ On’ is a country classic that the pair feel they have been able to give a modern flourish to but without losing the spirit of the original. Besides the song Caroline is also releasing two books this spring after having already published her trilogy Vänskapsband during 2020/2021.
