Grow Mental Health Support meeting takes place every Thursday afternoon from 2.30pm until 4.30pm in the Social Services Centre, Link Road, Portarlington.

At Grow Mental Health Organisation we understand what you are going through. Reach out to us now & start getting the support you need.

SEWING WORKSHOP

Upcoming Children’s Sewing Workshop at Solas Eco Garden centre, takes place on Saturday October 21 from 3pm to 5pm. Your child will acquire a valuable lifelong skill! Suitability: Children Ages 7 to 16. A spooktacular time creating Halloween Bean Bags together. Children are encouraged to bring old clothes to transform into something new. They’ll learn-Basic sewing techniques. How to use a sewing machine (age-appropriate). Creative fabric design. They will then take home their very own Halloween-themed bean bags!

Sensory Toy Resource Collection – a service for parents of children with additional needs who live in Co. Laois. The toys are designed to support the development of gross motor skills, fine motor skills and communication skills. More details can be found on our website or ask at the library desk.

Laois Libraries Online Book Club reads one book a month chosen from the BorrowBox collection. Join us on the last Wednesday of each month when questions are posed for discussion on our Book Club Facebook page. SYMPATHY

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Mary Shinners (nee Downey), Portarlington & formerly  Drimnagh, Dublin who passed away on  Died peacefully on Thursday October 5. Mary will be sadly missed by her son Eamonn, daughter Elizabeth, grandchildren Oran, Ethan, Jamie, Sarah and Conor, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Funeral took place at Newlands Cross Crematorium. May Mary’s gentle soul rest in Peace.
