The Happy Hearts/Active retirement club returns next Thursday September 7 from 1.45pm to 3.45pm in the Portarlington Community Centre.  Every Thursday thereafter. Lots of activities & outings. New members welcome.

DANCE CLASSES

Adult dance classes are back on September 5th after a Summer break at the Portarlington Community Centre. Every Tuesday night from 7pm to 8pm. Beginners & improvers. Places must be booked. For more information call Lisa at 085 7416886. No partner required.

Solas Eco garden centre are thrilled to announce that they will be hosting a Vintage Motorbike & Scooter Static Display on Sunday September 10 from 12pm to 5pm.  All in support of a fantastic cause – Ulemu. Ulemu is a heartwarming charity initiated by a dynamic brother and sister duo from Laois.

SYMPATHY

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Michael Murphy, St Michael’s Park, who passed away at his home on Wednesday August 30 surrounded by his family. Michael was predeceased by his parents Mick & Lil & his Uncle Tommy. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Elizabeth & Cathy, brothers Jimmy, Tommy & Eddie, his niece, nephews, extended family & friends. Michael will be missed by everyone who he delivered Post to, with his sunny disposition & his chats. Funeral took  place on Friday September 1st at St Michael’s Church Portarlington, with burial after in St Michaels Cemetery. May Michael’s gentle soul rest in Peace.

50TH ANNIVERSARY

Congratulations to the Portarlington Rugby Club who celebrated their 50th anniversary on Sunday August 27, with a family fun day & senior match on the day. Members of the original 1974 team were special guests on the day.
