Parents & Toddler’s group will be in the Portarlington Community Centre every Wednesday from 10am-12pm. Why not pop in for a tea/coffee and a chat whilst your child or grandchild gets to play.


The Portarlington concert band thank everyone who attended their recent concert at Scoil Phadraig. Also thanks to everyone for their support for their collection at McLoughlins Supervalu. This group are proud to once again to be bringing you the Laois Africa Day 2023. Only thing is this year is going to be way better than the other year’s, as we are expecting more countries. Deepest Sympathy to the family of Connie O’Connor, Birmingham & Cloneygowan who passed away on Monday May 15. Connie was predeceased by his parents Con & Mary O’Connor. He will be sadly missed by his brother Owen, sisters Mary, Margie & Kathleen, nieces, nephews, extended family & friends. May Connie rest in Peace. 

Funeral arrangements later. 


Deepest Sympathy to the family of James (Noel) Moore, Emo & Renmore Galway, who passed away on Friday May 12. Noel was predeceased by his parents Jim & Marie. He will be sadly missed by his brothers Tony, Michael & Stephen, aunts, nephews, nieces, extended family & work colleagues & friends. Funeral took place in Emo on May 19. May Noel rest in Peace.

LOTTO-Laois Clubs combined Lotto draw takes place as usual, every Tuesday night. Next week’s Jackpot is €5,800. Tickets can be bought from club members or online via


Bingo at Port GAA Centre every Tuesday night at 8pm. Over €3,000 in prize money to be won. Free parking and wheelchair accessible. 


Portarlington Dinner Dance 2023 takes place at the Heritage Hotel Killenard on Sunday June 4. Doors open at 6.30pm for dinner. Music from 6pm to 7.30pm with Aidan Doyle. Medal presentation & guest speaker. Live band performance by the Seducers, with DJ till late. Tickets €45 and can be purchased from any Committee member. MC on the night Jack Nolan.
