WOMENS SHED

The very enjoyable Women’s Shed takes place at the Portarlington Community Centre every Thursday from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Plenty of activities & outings. New members always welcome. Well done to the ladies who celebrated their 1st anniversary on Thursday last May 4 at a party in the Club.

The Presentation Primary School Portarlington would like to let you know about their new weekly Fundraiser Lotto. Money raised goes directly to support the children’s education & to purchase resources for the school, including Sports equipment, IT equipment, Classroom & teaching resources. Deepest Sympathy to the family of Mary Langford (nee Travers), Emo village & late of Dromahair, Co. Leitrim who passed away on Thursday April 27. Mary was predeceased by her husband Frank, son Francis, grandson Darren & daughter in law Betty. She will be sadly missed by her sons Michael, John & Brian, daughters Margaret, Bernie & Colette, grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great grandchild, extended family, neighbours & friends. May Mary’s gentle soul rest in Peace. Funeral took place on Monday May 1.

Helen was predeceased by her loving husband Jimmy. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Eleanor, sons Derek & Aidan, brothers Sean & Dermot, sisters Bridie & Hillary, son in law Ginger (Shortall), daughters in law Katrina & Marina, grandchildren Ciara, Conor, Eoin, Mark, Sarah, Jack, & Sophie, extended family, neighbours & friends. Funeral took place on Tuesday May 2. May Helens gentle soul rest in Peace.

Sean was predeceased by his parents John & Mary, brother Pat & nephew Damian. He will be sadly missed by by his loving wife Mary, daughter Éilis, sons Ciaran & Cathal, daughter-in-law Kayleigh, adoring grandchildren Teagan, Senach and Liadán, brother Tommy, sisters Sr.Joseph, Josephine, Rose, Brigid & Teresa, extended family, neighbours & a large circle of friends. Funeral took place on Monday May 1. May Sean rest in Peace.

LOTTO-Laois Clubs combined Lotto draw takes place as usual, every Tuesday night. Next week’s Jackpot is €5,400. Tickets can be bought from club members or online via www.play.clubforce.com

BINGO

Bingo at Port GAA Centre every Tuesday night at 8pm. Over €3,000 in prize money to be won. Free parking and wheelchair accessible.

 DINNER DANCE

Portarlington Dinner Dance 2023 takes place at the Heritage Hotel Killenard on Sunday June 4. Doors open at 6.30pm for dinner. Music from 6pm to 7.30pm with Aidan Doyle. Medal presentation & guest speaker. Live band performance by the Seducers, with DJ till late. Tickets €45 and can be purchased from any Committee member. MC on the night Jack Nolan.
