MEALS ON WHEELS

COLLECTION-The Meals on Wheels will have their collection at Supervalu & Centra Main St on Friday May 5th & Saturday May 6th. Your generosity would be greatly appreciated. 

WOMENS SHED

The very enjoyable Women’s Shed takes place at the Portarlington Community Centre every Thursday from 10.30am to 12.30pm. New members always welcome. The 1st anniversary will take place on Thursday May 4. All welcome.

Fisherstown Tractor and Truck Run at the Final Furlong Ballybrittas on Sunday July 2.

All proceeds to the Laois Hospice. Please come along and support. All Tractor and Trucks welcome, don’t forget overnight parking available on Saturday night. See you there.

Farmers Market takes place at Solas Eco Garden Centre, Portarlington, every Saturday from 10am-2pm. Organic, Fresh & Local Produce.

SYMPATHY

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Matthew Brophy, Portlaoise & formerly Lough, Portarlington who died unexpectedly on Monday April 16. He will be sadly missed by his wife Pauline, his children Mark, Yvonne & Attracta, daughter-in-law Sinead and son-in-law Joe, his six grandchildren Robbie, Leah, Arabella, Jessica, Paige and Brody, brothers Sean and Seamus, sisters Maura, Sadie, Christine and the late Elizabeth Duffy, sisters and brothers in law, nieces & nephews, extended family and friends and his retired Portlaoise Prison officer colleagues. Funeral took place on Thursday April 20. May Matthew rest in Peace.

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Dr. Ramesh Nagabathula, Killenard, Portarlington, who passed away on Monday April 16. Ramesh will be sadly missed by his loving wife Fiona, his precious little girls Tara & Roisin, brother Shiva & family, parents in law Pat & Pauline, extended family, many friends, & his colleagues at Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Funeral took place on Friday April 21. May Ramesh rest in Peace.

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Patrick (Paddy) O’Brien, Lea road Portarlington & formerly Milltown, Dublin, who passed away on Tuesday April 17. 

Paddy was predeceased by his parents Margaret (née Neville) and James, and by his sister Margaret (Croke). He will be sadly missed by his sisters Madeleine & Rosemary, brother Jimmy, nieces Angela, Emma and Maria, nephews Michael, James and Eamon, his grand-nieces and grand-nephews, extended family, neighbours & his wide circle of friends and colleagues, particularly from the Railway Records Society, and the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland. Funeral took place Friday April 21. May Paddy rest in Peace.
