Portarlington Rugby club U7s team is all about fun, fitness and learning the values that come with being part of a team. Why not come along on Saturday’s at 10am and join in to see if your son or daughter enjoy it.

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Paul Carroll who passed away suddenly in London on Wednesday January 11. Paul was originally from Clonanny Portarlington & had lived in London for many years. He was predeceased by his father Michael. He will be sadly missed by his mother Eileen, sisters Geraldine, Deirdre (Cotter) and Aileen (Doyle) brother Billy, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral took place on Saturday January 21 at St John’s Church Killenard.  May Paul rest in Peace.

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Teresa Ryan (nee McEvoy), Woodbrook Portarlington & formerly Portlaoise who passed away on Friday January 13. Teresa will be sadly missed by her loving husband Barry, children Katie, Paidi & Hannah, parents Pat & Frances, brothers Patrick & Sean, sister Claire, extended family & friends. PORT ATHLETE

A big well done to 13 year old Cillín Hoey, Droughill Portarlington who has been selected as the national Juvenile 2022 star award winner for Laois by athletics Ireland. This selection was made following his fantastic performances in 2022, winning 4 National titles and a Bronze all Ireland medal. Cillín will receive his award at the regional indoor Championships.

What a great achievement. Be very proud Cillín.

BINGO

Bingo at Port GAA Centre every Tuesday night at 8pm. Over €3,000 in prize money to be won. Free parking and wheelchair accessible. 

Healthy Walking– After their fantastic performance last year, the Club are hoping to do even better this year. The 1st group walk started on Thursday January 12 & will continue every Thursday night at 6:30pm at McCann Park Portarlington. Good luck everyone.

Healthy Club-This year Gracefield GAA Healthy Club has started and is part of the Ireland Lights Up Challenge. The Club would love to see as many people as possible of all ages join them in this steps challenge. The goal is to walk 4,000km as a group effort. Download the Mylife app from Irish life, join the challenge, choose Leinster and then choose Gracefield. Gracefield’s Healthy club will meet once a week as a group. Every step during the week counts. We can reach our goal as a community.
