PORTARLINGTON CONCERT BAND
Lessons are continuing on a one-to-one basis, and new musicians are always welcome. Contact Pat @0838510428. The Concert Band need your help. Due to Covid the Band were not able to hold any fundraising concerts or do their annual collections in the Community. They still have significant overheads with insurance, instruments and heating to pay for. Any donation is greatly appreciated on the following link here.
GRACEFIELD GAA
The Club are looking for your help. For the next 2 Saturdays they will be holding a drop off point at the club where you can leave your unwanted clothing and other clothing accessories. If you are having a spring clean and want to help raise funds for Gracefield GAA this is an ideal opportunity to do so. Alternatively, if you can’t make it to the club to drop off your items, we can arrange a collection whilst adhering to the covid guidelines & restrictions. SYMPATHY
Deepest Sympathy to the family of William (Billy) Case, Ballycarroll Portarlington who passed away on Thursday April 8. Billy will be sadly missed by his loving wife Marie, sons Sam, Alan & Eric, daughters Pearl, Hazel, Emily & Geraldine, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, extended family, neighbours & friends. Service took place on Sunday April 11 at the Church of the Ascension, Rathdaire, Ballybrittas, with burial after in the adjoining Churchyard. May Billy rest in Peace.

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Bridget (Bridie) O’Connor (nee Phelan), Patrick St Portarlington who passed away on Wednesday April 14. Bridie was predeceased by her loving husband Liam. She will be sadly missed by her sons Liam, John & Kieran, daughters Beatrice, Deirdre, Martina, Aileen & Fiona, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, neighbours & friends. Funeral Mass took place on Friday April 16 at St Michael’s Church Portarlington, with burial after in St Michael’s Cemetery. May Bridie’s gentle soul rest in Peace.

Noel will be sadly missed by his loving wife Sandra, daughter Gillian & her partner Philip, son Gary & his partner Priscilla, grandchildren Erin, Jamie, Oliver, Crevan, Thomas, Cian & Oran, brother Harold, sisters Margaret, Emma, Caroline, Avril, Sheila & Yvonne, aunt Sheila, uncle Albert, extended family, neighbours & friends. Funeral Service took place on Saturday April 17 at St John’s Church Monasterevin, with burial after in St Evin’s Cemetery Monasterevin. May Noel rest in Peace.
CEMETERY FUNDRAISER
Due to the current Covid19 restrictions the graveyard Committee are unable to carry out their normal fundraising efforts. We have therefore set up a Go Fund me page to raise vital funds for the maintenance and upkeep of St. Michael’s Cemetary, Portarlington. The cemetery maintenance is kept on a voluntary basis by a number of dedicated members. Money is needed for to purchase a new mower, also for plants & to maintain the skips placed in the cemetery which have to be emptied 3 times a year at least.
