DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY

Wishing a happy 60th Anniversary to Eamon & Rose (nee Bracken) Doyle, St Brigid’s Sq Portarlington. Married in 1952 at St Mary’s Church Raheen Cloneygowan. Rev J Walsh C.C Geashill officiated at the wedding. Eamon & Rose celebrated with a meal at Garryhinch Golf Club. They were joined on the day with their 3 sons, 4 daughters, grandchildren & great-grandchildren & extended family. Good health & many more happy years is wished for this wonderful couple.

PORT LIBRARY

Valentines Crafts at the Library. Our popular Parent and Child craft table will be back just in time to make some cards for Valentines Day. The table will be up from 10:30 -1pm (or while stocks last) on Saturday February 12. This is a free event, but all children must be accompanied by an adult.

New Grow Mental Health Peer Support meeting taking place every Thursday afternoon starting at 2.30pm until 4.30pm in the Social Services Centre Portarlington. Deepest Sympathy to the family of Leo Broughan, Abbeyleix & formerly St Brigid’s Sq, Portarlington who passed away on Wednesday January 26. Leo will be sadly missed by his daughter Claire, son Adrian & their mother Mary, brothers, sisters, extended family &

friends. Funeral Mass took place on Sunday January 30 at St Michael’s Church Portarlington, with burial after in St Michael’s Cemetery. May Leo rest in Peace.

It was with great sadness that the staff & students at Colaiste Iosagain Portarlington heard of the sudden death on January 31 of one of their beloved teachers. Emily Rowe (nee Seery) Edenderry passed away suddenly at her home. Emily was predeceased by her brother Billy. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Vinny, her darling son Louie, parents Gerry & Yvonne, parents in law Olive & Reggie, grandmother Colette, extended family, friends & all at Colaiste Iosagain. Funeral for Emily took place on Thursday February 3. May Emily’s gentle soul rest in Peace.

Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Kate, & his loving daughter Ann (Cox). He will be sadly missed by his son in law Jim, grandsons David & his wife Claire, Barry & Kevin, granddaughter Louise, great-grandchildren, sister in law Bridie, extended family, neighbours & friends. Funeral Mass took place on Thursday February 3 at St Joseph’s Church Mountmellick, with burial in St Joseph’s Cemetery. May Jack’s gentle soul rest in Peace.
