CONCERT BAND

SessIons are now back on Monday’s with Gerry & Pat from 3pm. Junior Band Rehearsals are on from 5pm.
Pat is also doing lessons on Tuesday. Thursdays lessons will be back from 3pm with Gerry, Willie and Pat. Senior Band Rehearsals will take place from 5pm. Call into the Old Girls School at Kilmalogue Cross or contact Pat on 083 – 8510428 if you have any queries.

Now that the nights are getting shorter, do you know anyone over the age of 65, that maybe a Senior Alert Alarm could enable them to have some peace of mind. The first year monitoring is free, no installation charge for Landline phone. If anyone is interested in any of the above, the Love Port office can do all the necessary paper work. Over the phone, you can contact 057- 8608395. New Grow Mental Health Peer Support meeting taking place every Thursday afternoon starting at 2.30pm until 4.30pm in the Social Services Centre Portarlington. Any person over 18 years of age is welcome to attend. SYMPATHY

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Pete Corcoran, Courtwood, Ballybrittas who passed away on January 12. Pete was predeceased by his parents John & Josephine, & his brother John. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Kathleen, sons Johnny & Peter, daughters Majella & Imelda, brother Willie, sisters, Sr.Gemma, Mary & Josephine, grandchildren, extended family, neighbours & friends. Funeral Mass took place on Friday January 14 at the Sacrd Heart Church, Rath, with burial after in the new Cemetery Emo. May Pete rest in Peace.

SYMPATHY

On behalf of the people of Portarlington, our deepest sympathy to the family of dear Ashling Murphy, Blueball, Tullamore who was taken tragically from her dear family on Wednesday January 13. Our absolute Sympathy to her dad Raymond, mam Kathleen, brother Cathal, sister Amy, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, neighbours & friends. May Ashlings gentle soul rest in Peace. 


CODER DOJO
The Club have some fantastic news. The club received great news from Colaiste Iosagain that they can return to where they had been hosting the Dojo for the last number of years. They have held a number of online classes up until last April in Microbits, Python, Unity & Scratch and also continuing with their sister club MakePort. The intention is to start up again in the New Year – pandemic permitting. Please get in touch if you can help. The club prioritise the children of mentors meaning they will be able to get ahead of the dojo waiting list. Check out the Coder Dojo Portarlington facebook page for more information.
