Portarlington Active Retirement Club has resumed after the Summer break, every Thursday from 1.45pm to 3.45pm at the Portarlington Community Centre. New members welcome.

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Charlie Kavanagh formerly Bracklone St who passed away on Saturday October 8. Charlie was predeceased by his loving wife Annie. He will be sadly missed by his sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family & friends. Funeral Mass took place on Tuesday October 11 at St Michael’s Church, with burial after in St Michael’s Cemetery. May Charlie rest in Peace.


Deepest Sympathy to the family of Carmel Keogh (nee Shortall), Kilbarrack, Dublin & formerly St Michael’s Park Portarlington who passed away on Wednesday October 12. Carmel was predeceased by her beloved son Michael. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Michael, sons Brian, Declan & Paschal, daughters Deirdre, Bernadette & Clare, her 8 beloved grandchildren, sisters Marie, Jean & Bernie, extended family & friends. Funeral Mass took place on Saturday October 15 at the Holy Trinity Church, Donaghmede, with burial after in Fingal Cemetery. May Carmel rest in Peace. 


Deepest Sympathy to the family of Mona Whittaker (nee Cobbe), Clonbullogue, who passed away on Tuesday October 11. Mona was predeceased by her loving husband Victor & daughter Margarette. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Heather, grandchildren Sharon & Philip, great-grandmother to Mati, Eliza, Emma, Ally & Charlotte, brothers Ray, Bill & Patsy, extended family, neighbours & a large circle of friends. Funeral Service took place on Friday October 14 at St Kevin’s Church Clonbullogue, with burial in the adjoining Churchyard. May Mona rest in Peace.

The Tidy Town's 'Spring Clean' of Portarlington on Saturday 23 April was a big success. Over 120 volunteers took part at 34 different locations across the town and surrounding areas. 190 sacks of rubbish were collected.
