DERRYOUNCE
Derryounce Experience are hosting a fundraiser in the Dunamaise Theatre on Thursday September 29. A movie filmed by George Mathews in the 1920’s capturing the time, including recordings made in Portarlington & Dublin will be shown. Just the 2nd time the film will be shown. This is a wonderful opportunity to go back 100 years whilst supporting a fantastic local amenity.
SOCIAL SERVICES BINGO
The senior citizens Bingo has resumed & will continue every Wednesday night at 8.30pm in the Social Services Centre, Link Road. With tea & biscuits & chat after.
50th ANNIVERSARY
Portarlington Social Services/Meals on Wheels are celebrating 50 years of serving the people of Portarlington & surrounding areas. We will celebrate with a Ecumenical Service & Blessing on Friday October 7 at 7pm in the Social Services Centre, Link Road. All people who had any association with the Service from the beginning to the present day are welcome to attend.
ACTIVE RETIREMENT
Portarlington Active Retirement Club has resumed after the Summer break, every Thursday from 1.45pm to 3.45pm at the Portarlington Community Centre. New members welcome.

THE NEWELL CHOIR
The Newell Choir (working title) commencing on Thursday September 22 at the Social Services Centre, Link Road, Portarlington. Every Thursday from 7.30pm – 9pm. More than just choral training, members receive instruction in breath control, vocal technique and voice projection from a specialist singing teacher with professional performance experience. Subscription fee of €100 per term covers-Sheet Music, Part Recordings & Venue Rental. Previous choral experience or the ability to read music is not a requirement.
